Companies put their development time and money into things that are likely to provide a return on investment... by that understanding, why do you imagine that list is so long? Hrm?

As a software developer, allow me to inform you that neither in the professional, financial, or gaming industry is there a reason to consider developing for Apple products as the money just isn't there.

...Unless you're marketing to art majors... most of which have no money, so, the point is moot.

Macs were not designed for gaming, simple as that. Macs are also hellishly expensive pieces of machinery compared to other systems so not many people own one unless they have a good job that pays them well enough to afford it. Macs were designed for professional tasks like art and (maybe?) programming, nothing more.

You can either accept this and buy a PC, get bootcamp, or not play Defiance at all. The options are there.

No your money is not good enough most of the time, at least not for a lot of studios that develop games. I guess the MBAs at the different studios look at the potential ROI on a OS port and decide that it isn't worth the investment. Considering the market share for Macs (not IOS devices, just OS X), I can't say that I'm surprised. And with the boot camp option out there for Macs, it probably weighs the argument against an OS port and makes things that much easy for the bean counters.

Eventually I think this will change and you can see some of that happening with Steam and their Linux platform. I think one day we get to a point where games run in a virtual environment on a layer between the client and the cloud and it won't matter what OS you have, but we're not there yet.

I actually run Linux Mint as my desktop OS & run Win 7 x64 in Virtual Box strictly for gaming. I'm no fan of Windows by any means, but until Direct X dies and/or Open GL matures somewhat, I think we're stuck.

Really then explain to me why Apple has such a huge market share now Companies have been wrong on this issue in the past as they are now. Apple also has the best & most developer relations group out there, Check it out you might learn something, unless you are convinced PCs and Windows format is the best way to go.

You have no idea what your talking about, Most serious movie makers are using macs because of their speed and user friendly software IE Adobe, Final cut, Poser, even Micro soft had the smarts way back to put Word out in native Osx format. Top early games like Warcraft, Civilization, Sim City, Duke Nukem, & others that still support mac have obviously made money and most still are. All I hear from companies like this are lame uninformed excuses.

By the way apple went from 11 percent of the computer market in the late 90s early 2000s to a current 22 percent of the overall market get your facts straight. Since apple restarted the school program 90 percent of laptops in our town owned by students are macs.

Mac holds 9.6% of the market share across the entire planet. All of it... every user... 9.6%... let me know if you decide to start a tech company, I won't be investing.

cause hipsters like you tend to buy their stupid and useless products and toss money to them, btw apple lost 15% market share to competitors since the beginning of this year

Do you people not know anything? Mac uses OpenGL for graphics where as windows uses DirectX there completely incompatible and game dev's are not going to rewrite there game engines just for the hand full of mac users. Seriously macs have no use for games so if that's what you like get a PC. So get use to the fact mac's suck that why nobody uses them anymore besides die hard mac fans that are willing to spend $2k+ on a laptop that only has a maybe $900 worth of hardware. Mac is worst than alienware.
