Castithans ... will there be a tie in to the show as to why they appear in the DLC?

This is a purely speculative discussion thread. Me guessing on stuff I see happening in the TV show throughout the season.

So throughout the season there has been some conflict with the Castithan ways in the show. Nolan interrupting their ceremony, the conflict involving the wedding and based on the commercials for tonight it seems there is gonna be more of those odds again. I am wondering if leading up to the finale are we gonna see that come to a head and maybe the Castithan leave Defiance which will explain their appearance in the Bay area .. what do you guys think is gonna happen.. why are the Castithan coming to the game?

You guys make it sound like theyre secluded in Defiance, they really dont need a reason. They could be anywhere really, with the VC in Brazil all the way to Defiance and beyond. I mean look at Ara Shondu and alot of the Dark Matter are probably castithan as well. Just cause we couldnt play as them does not mean they arent present in the area, if anything we just have a very limited view of exactly what IS in the bay area. So far we've only seen farms but hopefully we'll see settlements at some point.

Yeah but those are the ONLY Casti in the Bay so far. And its not because aliens were excluded from the game design either. I mean we have seen several of the races even among mobs. Its conspicuous there hasn't been any other Castithan present.

Well theyre very elitist, cant imagine one as a raider and if theyre also farmers they seem to stick to their own even in places like Defiance with coexistence and what not. I believe theyre to be found in whatever settlement is close to the Bay Area, and given that they'll appear along with the new arenas, I'm pretty sure they'll be running them.

There also aren't any Sensoths, Gulanee or Liberata outside of enemies and the few main characters in the storyline. Same as the Castithians (Raiders, Dark Matter, Ara Shondu). And the sole Indogene is Eren.

There have been other threads asking about why there aren't any random aliens running around besides those trying to kill us and a lot of people have griped about it.

Isn't there going to be some new story missions with the DLC?

Maybe that will explain things. *shrug*

Or there's the generic "they've always been there, just you weren't able to play as them up until now" story, since it's not like they'll probably be changing up the introduction for Casties.

Either many people forget or they simply don't know, but DLC1 was initially slated to be release very close to Episode 1 of the show.

The Castithan were introduce in Episode 1, then they would become playable in-game. Sieges were also suppose to be introduced, with the Volge as the attackers, after the Volge siege of Defiance in Episode 1.

The ties that your looking for have already happened and gone, but due to issues being experienced with the game, the DLC was postponed, validly in my opinion, for Trion to focus on fixing the many issues already in-game.

See I don't believe it actually ever was. Its to perfect for them to have it all between seasons. They need something to fill the void when there is no cross content to use. And of course now they keep saying "First five DLCs between season one and season two.". The matter of the fact way he says it just makes me think this always was the actual plan personally and what we were told before was the old development team confusion.

Maybe, just maybe, the date of the launch of the show was too early for Trion to fully finish the game. Could be, looking at the bugs, glitches and flaws the game had (and still has). Due to this pressure to get the game out before the show started they might have cut some corners. So just the human-race and an alien race to start playing with and 'we'll implement the rest later through DLC's'.

Another reason might be they held back some races on purpose, just to increase the worth of the first DLC. Cause lets be honest, a new playable race does make the DLC a lil more attractive.
