So just the human-race and an alien race to start playing with and 'we'll implement the rest later through DLC's'.

Another reason might be they held back some races on purpose, just to increase the worth of the first DLC. Cause lets be honest, a new playable race does make the DLC a lil more attractive.
Well, there are 7 Votan races. One of them is already available (Irathient), and Casthithans will be available with this DLC. That leaves 5 of the races remaining: Sensoth, Indogene, Gulanee, Liberata, and Volge.

Indogene - These are almost highly likely to be another DLC race due to how human-like they are. In a way they're basically like bald, slimmer Castithans as far as modeling would go.

Sensoth - Also possible, since they're just a bulkier (and hairier) race to implement in. Similar to how the Irathients are (at least the males) in comparison to Humans model-wise. Due to being larger than the other races though, they may be at a disadvantage PvP-wise.

Liberata - There's already a model to go off of (mostly just Varus's), so it's possible they could be playable, though they would be much shorter so they could potentially have a bit of a PvP advantage due to smaller hit boxes.

Gulanee - They seem to be super duper rare so far (have any of them even shown up yet in-game or in the show?), but they wear containment suits in order to survive outside, so it wouldn't be too farfetched that they could be added playable race.

Volge - These seem to be the most unlikely due to being 8 feet tall, being adorned in armor (making customization difficult), and being against every other race. That and they wouldn't be necessary for a DLC race if the other four Votan races are featured in the next four planned DLC packs.

So... it's possible that they did hold it back, but I won't be surprised if each DLC pack will have one of the other Votan races added in as well. Except for the Volge, because we hate them and they hate us.

You forgot to quote the above part that puts it in better context, where he gave a hierarchy of priorities as far as their time/focus goes:

"That being said, we prioritize our development team in general categories just as we prioritize what individual issues we work on. If a person has anything in the highest category, that person works on that before anything else. This is how it looks right now.

    Full Cluster Crashes

    Game Server Crashes

    Live Gameplay issues

    Upcoming patches

    DLCs"

So... DLCs are at the bottom of the list. And they've been trying to do a lot of fixes since then to address issues with crashes and the live game's content/bugs. And they've been patching the game at a rate of once per two weeks. Plus it sounds like they made the DLC and its associated content patch more meaty as a result of the change in plans. But I guess we'll see if it was worth the wait or not when it releases in a few weeks.

Yeah and I say my plans for world domination are delayed by a few days all the time too.. doesn't mean A: I actually planned shtako, or B: That my plans weren't always intended to happen later and I was just talking out of my a** to appease the serfs.

Hell last time I put my car in the shop they said I could pick it up tomorrow, and I didn't see it again for two weeks. What was the more likely truth? It was "harder" for them to replace the starter, or the guy who gave me the quote said that so I wouldn't kick him in his wedding tackle for making me wait two weeks?

The end boss of explosions 101 coop is a Gulanee, the only one seen thus far. The vulge are basically the biggest antagonist along with the Votanis Collective/ E REP, depending on your personal views of those two at least.

Wouldn't count on it. It's been two episodes and we haven't seen anything regarding varus going after nolan. What makes you think there will be a tie in for the DLC content if they haven't been consistent with any of their other tie in content?

Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

I won't argue with you. If your not willing to accept the words of the Executive Producer in an open letter to the community on the timeline of the DLC content then there is absolutely nothing I can say will convince you. You'll never lose your argument since your set in assuming that the Executive Producer had devious intentions when writing the letter. Your using a false analogy. Just because your mechanic and the Executive producer both provided you with a timeline, doesn't mean you can project the Insincerity of your mechanic onto the Executive Producer. Your using a Faulty Generalization Fallacy to try and win the argument.

    I'm done now. Regards.

My though, it might have something to do with the V.C. making a push to get into the bay area. We'll see a larger force of Casti's making their way to the bay area in an effort to sway Ara Shondu away from making an agreement with the E-Rep for the Mag-lev.

Or to be there to fight off the E-Rep when tensions get high enough. But then who knows.

Just can't let people hope anymore, even if it's just about a video game. Nope! None of that nonsense! Here's the worst case scenario, now choke on it! Haha

If they leave they'll be back by the start of the second season. No way they'll get rid of the villains that discuss their evil schemes while bathing together.

I thought Dark Matter was all Castithan. Other than Ara Shondu (who was only sent there by the VC) you don't see them anywhere else in the bay area. There are no other size (big Sensoth or small Liberata) Dark Matter characters. Some could be Indogene but they don't seem like soldier material. I guess they could have Irathients, but they don't mix with Castithans from what we've been told on the show.

To be honest though, if you make a human with white skin, white hair and yellow eyes you have a Castithan character. I may try to make one tonight just to see how it works and freak people out.
