    Sensible snacks while playing (PC)

    Hi @ all!

I thought I'ld start a thread concerning a problem all PC players know:

You are online, playing a nice session with a couple of people, don't want to be left behind but suddenly you feel hungry...

What is your food of choice in that situation?

I usually had instant pizza or potatoe chips + beer but both can be pretty messy while using mouse and keyboard...

I'm not much of a sweet tooth so biscuits and stuff are no real option.

Any advice on this life or death matter?

Rold Gold Pretzels are my go to snack in the evening. If you are like my wife and you have to have something to 'dip' use salsa with baked chips if you are looking for something lighter than the normal.

it Depends if its midday weekend I go for some beer and veggies with ranch dip, if its late at night I go for the energy drinks and some pringles.

But those sugar snap pea pods sound real good. (^)

My gaming snacks have veered to the very sensible side as I have no intention on putting back on the 50+ lbs I worked so hard to get rid of last year. Now I have a mix of nuts, dried banana chips, and raisins - or an apple or orange on hand.

Popcorn is actually a good substitute for chips, crackers, cookies or other more sugary/starchy snacks.

I like grapes, apple slices and roasted unsalted peanuts. Grapes are pretty perfect because they are pretty clean and are natires bite sized snack. To drink, give me coffee or give me death. It's my last "bad" vice. I quit smoking several years ago, don't drink alcohol to excess and never really touch junk food, soda or candy. After coffee, good old fashioned water.

And to cap the night off a good peaty, smokey single malt scotch.

Oh you can keep your coffee and you can stop calling it a vice because according to a huge epidemiological study funded by the NIH (>200000 probands by far the biggest study concerning coffee consumption and health so far...) coffee is good for you.
If you correct the data for confunders like smoking, sports and consumption of red meat/vegetables coffee drinkers have a higher life expectancy than non-coffee drinkers as they have a significantly reduced risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease while having only a minor increased risk for some types of cancer.

So in short: "Coffee is good for you!"
