That was a fun one, my actual health rarely ever dropped under the full 3 reds.
The super-fast recharge rate shields are the Hurricane shields.

I personally run around with Re-Spark, as the minimized recharge delay is the most vital to my playstyle.

I had this debate in another thread. Personally I think they need a little balancing. I don't see any reason at all right now not to use the 2.5 second delay before shield regen shields. In order for me to even think about using a shield that takes 9.6 seconds to start regening It would need to be atleast 3 times as much total shields as what I get back in 2.5 seconds. Yet all the 9.6 second shields I found were only a few hundred usually like 400 more total shields. 400 isn't even one shot from most guns.

In all the comparisons I've done, trying to figure out which I wanted to use... the Rhino Shields, which have the highest shield capacity (that I've seen), appear to have 50% more capacity than the Hurricane and/or Re-Spark shields.

Whether or not that is a sufficient bump for what they lack in delay speed/recharge speed... could certainly be debated.

Prefer the rhino shields, high capacity, low recharge. Found they saved my *** more than the other ones did.

Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

the strategy you should use for choosing your shield is your playstyle
there shouldnt be "better" shield, just like there shouldnt be "better guns"
choose the ones you think its going to help you the most

    I think I am using a Tachyon, 1400 with 80% and 8 seconds.

But, because i use cloak my shield regen activates as soon as i turn invisible. I think if you're using cloak go with huge capacity, huge regen. time is irrelevant IMO.

for the rampages you'll want fast recharging shields. you cant use ego powers or bmg's in them.

and the super fast ones are called rebel. found only one. 2.89s recharge, but only 10% recharge rate.

either way it was only when i used that shield that iw as able to survive some of the rampages.

    Respark varients for pve

    Rhino varients for pvp

thats how i role, the extra shielding is best in a pvp gunfight but having insta shields after 2.25 secs etc. is great as you can just spam roll to dodge bullets in pve
