I have some hard questions for trion. But a good chance to win back lost confidence.

Ok first let me say upfront this isn't a qq thread and it isn't a flame trion thread. It is however asking for some solid information.

1. According to your lead developer at e3 the dlc is scheduled for late july. If that is the case why is there nothing promoting that.

2. If it is slated for late july. Why is it that nowhere since e.3 has any developer confirmed this and always side steps the dateline by just saying the summer.

3 Arkfalls have been bugged for quite sometime. So why is it there has been no information given as to the possible causes? You say we are watching them closely. But do you realize so are the players and a lot of critics and review spots. So why is it not in your best interest to atleast offer a reasoning to the continuation of the bug?

4. If boosts are bugged and causing people to loose the benefits of them before their allotted time is up. Why then are you still selling them everyday to those who may not know this? Or at the very least a launcher message letting people know they are still bugged and may not work properly?


5. While pvp as you have said is a secondary content to the game but enjoyed by a large number of the players. Why is the pvp outfits still bugged out without any type of information on the cause or the estimated fix time?


6. With the continued confusion of players when show tie ins and show motivated content will be added. Why is there no official sticky relating what the scheduleing of that content to be added? ( and no not asking for spoilers on what that content is. Simply when and with how much consistency it will be added.

7. With new generation of consoles rapidly approaching. Will defiance be available on any of the new generation consoles? And if so will the players characters and accomplishments be able to be ported over?

8. With the map that players are open to atm starting to get crowded with emergencies, Arkfalls and other content. Will there be a map land mass exspanding with any of the first 3 dlc's?

9. With so many players outspoken about lack of content and trions own admittance to the fact that they do not consider pursuits as sustainable content. Will the upcoming dlc offer new content other than new weapons, Race, And sieges? (Such as continuation of storyline or a story arch new questline?)


10. With the recent patches being released with extra bugs and quirks that wasn't caught during the testing phases. Are there any plans for the near future to allow a public test server.


Again I tried my best to word these questions in a way that showed what a lot of players have stated as concerns. Without trying to be rude or distastefull towards the trion staff.

They are simply direct questions. And im sure many of the player base would much appreciate a direct answer to them. Thank you in advance for any answers provided from trion /defiance team.

I think question 10 will be enough to keep you from actually getting a response. It's basically worded as, "Since you are incompetent at doing your job when will you let us test for you?". The overall tone of most of the questions come off as kind of accusatory.

Trion brought it upon themselves if the questions are accusatory. They haven't exactly been the best with communication and a lot of the OP's questions affect the entire community. Things like the bugged arkfalls and the lost boosts haven't been elaborated on at all so it's just frustrating (it's been enough for me to actually stop playing the past week). I would like to see at least a few of these questions answered (actual answers, nothing like "we're working on them") but I don't see that happening.

I was not meant to in any way. And # 10 isn't saying they are incompetent. But even trion has said that patches tested in house don't test like they would on a live server.

So I was simply wondering if they had any plans to open a public test server in order to better catch bugs and glitches. And im not accusing them of anything but none of what I said is false either . Like I said they are hard questions. But ones I feel deserve solid answers.

And with the unhappy players spreading the word of the games short comings this gives trion a way to sequester some of that run away bad rep. By simply offering direct and informative answers to some players major concerns.

A. Yes, we absolutely have these sorts of updates in mind. However, we have no ETA to share just yet

B. It’s not planned, but it is something that keeps coming up! Maybe we’ll do something like this down the road.

E. Yes we are! However, we don’t have a date to share with you at this time.

F. Perhaps! No ___________ has been planned yet, but it could happen pretty easily!

Just a few things:

Re #3: I do not beleive that puplicly speculating on the cause of the AF glitching would be helpful at all. If fact, it would likely lead to more flames and bs.

Re #5: I did see a dev post sometime back that stated this would be fixed in the DLC update. Sorry, I am typing from a Xbox so it is a little hard to source that.

Re #10: I have always had a few questions about >a< test server for this game. A. Being on three platforms wouldn't we need at least 3 test servers? A PC only test server would not have caught the PvP outfit problem you wrote about it question 5 as it is a console only bug. B. How many people would still be in favor of the test server idea if it required you to have a copy of the game and season pass to be a tester on it (i.e. no free rides/free previews of DLC)? C. Do we want Trion to be devolping this new multi-platform test process or working on fixes and new content?

Your point on a test server: pointless. Why? Because many of the same issues encounted in -Alpha- bugs wise that we reported then, multiple times, still continue to plague the game(one perfect example is the arkfall bugs).

To be honest with the 60 day mark for the layoff notice folks coming, the fact that many of the issues from before launch and now still exist, and the artful dodging of firm, transparent answers with specific time tables to resolve the issues and the DLC, folks like yourself need to move out of evaluating/judging them by what they "say" they'll do and simply judge them on what they do/have done. Once you step into that frame of thinking it should give you a better perspective on the futility of asking the bulk of your questions on such things.

I dont like it anymore than you do but there is very little that can be done by us to effectively change the situation.

I'm not saying it shouldn't be worded exactly how you worded it. I'm just stating that I doubt you'll see any response based on how I interpreted the mood of your questioning.
