Question about DLC and Season Pass

This is just awesome. I mean judging from a lot of the threads demanding it be released NOW a whole lot of people will complain about anything. If Trion had released it sooner people would be mad and scream about it saying it should have been in the main game--"why should I pay extra for this?" If they say they intend to release it in July, people demand it July 1st. If they'd said it would be a for pay only DLC people would have gone crazy about that-with a for free portion, people say the content is skimpy.

If Trion said the sky was blue. Someone would say it's grey.
If they gave everyone a free copy of the game with a dozen orange weapons apiece, people would complain they didn't get the orange weapon they wanted.
DLC is what it is. Buy it or don't buy it. If you buy season passes for any game or if you pre-order a game or anything you are buying sight unseen because you get it for a discount over the regular price or you get some extra stuff.

And it's a lot harder to create extra story content than it is to just create new maps that are what you get in some other games and that you can pay $50 to get bundled in packs. In fact, some companies have the nerve to release old maps in retro packs that they charge full price for.

For what it's worth, they said the Season Pass will stick around, so unless you're desperate for the paid component of this DLC, you could play the free parts as they come out while you wait to get more details on when they're releasing the others and what is in them, then buy if you think you'll buy all 5.

I'm kind of interested in the new story mode, but I'm certainly willing to let someone else beta test it.

Exactly. I have the xbox points for the season pass but am willing to wait before I buy it. Afterall I have friends that got the season pass months ago. Let them try it the first few days, and if the ones that I know are HARD to please, like it atleast a little bit, then chances are it is good and worth my money.
