I base all my judgements on SAWs compared to what you can get relatively easily from Echelon or Top Notch vendors. You can buy a purple Saw with sludge nano (or not), the prepared synergy, -recoil, -reload, +fire rate, + melee damage after self revive (meh), for around 2k scrip and 200 rep points. Pretty easy and thats a great gun with a good synergy.
Oranges in this game are pretty much the same as a good purple or blue unless you get a really good stat boost. Its not like most traditional MMOs where a legendary weapon make you destroy things. I have scrapped most of my oranges in this game...
