pvp perhaps, pvp nothing - majority of them are quite weak compared to other weapons - i used afflictor, modded one for a while and gave up cuz the white standard no mod LMG just kileld everythign way faster.

the 4dmg per shot and like 150 smthing bug damage (at a slow rate aswell) cant compete with 8x400 dmg/sec.

So perhasp a base damage boost a little to 10 and extra effect (slow?). It just cant compete with many other weapons in pve.

had a purple that required like 248 ego.... i got number one in a mother of hellbugs arkfall (fat goo spitting bug) using mainly that. the weapon is a DOT basically. the bullet damage is low, but when the egg hatches the enemy takes damage, and then when the bug attacks they take more damage. so its basically a 3 step process.

step 1- hit the target (3? 5?) times = something like 20 damage.
step 2- egg hatches = enemy suffers whatever bug damage the gun has
step 3- bug attacks, target suffers bug damage again.

one vs one in a straight damage fight, this is not the gun. but for prolonged fights, this gun can really be effective, especially if you can aim half decently.

As some have pointed out, I only found it useful during arkfalls. I've decided to change my pre order from Game Stop to Best Buy because of it. The BMG's were pretty sweet.

    1. Bugdamage is a lot higher.... 600+ each and it´s an AOE
    2. Most infector do 5 damage each bullet, but each 5th bullet some extra damage (most 650+, depends how high your mastery is...with max mastery without mods its 699 damage, and the Outbreaker 900+ damage each 5th bullet because he doesnt spawn bugs if you keep fireing)
    3. Infector don´t need any buffs because they are allready one of the strongest weapons ingame if you know how they work and how to use them.
    4. The only thing that needs a change is, that bugdamage should count for rankings...... then will people maybe finally see how strong that weapon realy ist

I had alot of success with one particular infector; called 'Canker'

It would spawn bugs only when the infected target died, however the dot damamge was nice. I would juice up the target, then change to shotgun...blam. Bugs spawned--weapon description showed bug damage as 152, and they insta-gibbed about whatever was in range.

Of course, the range on that one was quite limited. Description said '17'.

I found another one which had much greater range for the bugs, but much lower damage. It would spawn bugs on still-living targets, however.

Fun stuff, catering to a variety of play styles.

The bug-damage that you see at the stats is actually the DoT-Damage. (canker should have been 172 dot-damage during beta)
All bugs do around 600 damage on explosion

I realy dont know..... i know every positive and negative of every single infector (even some orange versions) but not the spore-shot because i never could test it and don´t know how it will be like (more like a Infector, Afflictor, Outbreaker, Invader, Incubator, Innuculator, or one of the orange ones with special names)
If it´s more like a Innuculator, then a lot of people will be disappointed because its not easy to handle..... but on the other side it got the standard skin like Afflictor, Outbreaker, Infector so it think i will be more like on of these.
