Mr. Birch looks like he will be returning

With the ex-mayor dead and proven to be an undercover Indogene spy, the return of Mr. Birch to do his nasty work can't be far behind. It looks like the writers are setting up his return since Nicky was not the main brains and didn't set up the attack by herself. Mr. Birch might be dead but if he is an Indogene like Nicky, we have seen that death is just a minor annoyance for the Indogene. A choking and being thrown into a mystical terraformed molten river could be the catalyst for something more evil to return. I am not expecting he will be in town but I do see Mr. Birch coming back to wreck havoc. After all, without the mayor, who will be the big bad of the next season? I can see Mr. Birch returning at some point to continue as the enigmatic character behind the scenes doing nasty stuff.

You'd be wrong. The actor who plays Birch (Steven McCarthy) isnt slated to come back for future episodes.

Yeah, that episode threw me for a loop cuz that entire build-up of "the ex mayor is a criminal mastermind and is behind a really sinister plot" got thrown out the window. I don't think Birch is coming back, but maybe there is another person behind it all that we haven't seen.

Wasn't Mr. Birch's body dumped in molten gulanite?

    Pretty much.

Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

Perhaps you have seen him. Pretty coincidental that Charlie suddenly leaves S.F. the next day, isn't it?...

That is an eerily similar coincidence

There hasn't been anything on what gulanite does or what it really is. I am thinking that it is glowing as it has energy in it. The Indogenes are yet to be fleshed out so who knows what this turn of events brings. Personally, I don't think he would return without some scars and such. I also hear that the actor is just off doing other things but they never said how many shows he was in when it was originally online either. They are being very secretive about the number of shows and when he is on. He might just end up as a surprise when people least expect it. They have this Romeo and Juliet plot and one with the main Earth force. It will probably go on the back burner until they need something deeper with small hints to it to keep it alive.

I also noted that Steven McCarthy was only added episode by episode with the online forums as they were keeping him a secret. I think there is something more up with that. It was too convenient a death without seeing a body.

Mr. Birch was an indogen as well, when he was tossed into the "lava" but he had another relic on him, which is why the old mayor kept looking for him to begin with, the relic released nano bots which slowly restored him, even while in the lava, we know the lava was a cold type of material as there was no steam or fire from surrounding debris, once he is fully restore he will be back to his indogene form, seeing as the nano bots will rebuild based off his DNA, so the original actor isn't needed anymore, he will try to get the other artifact pieces back to reactivate a giant terraformer that was sealed away to prevent the destruction of the planet. The Terraformer will be gaurded by Indogenes who do not want its power released "guardians" the only reason the artifacts were out to begin with, was because they were given to trusted Indogenes to send across the landscape so that no one could access the chamber containing the terraformer. Which is why it seems only Indogenes even know about this thing.

Next DLC will have Indogenes as a playable race.
