Hello all, this is Shwartz here from the Freemasons clan. I'm here to tell you about a community event that we will be hosting this Saturday (June 29th) for all members of the Defiance community on the NA servers for the Xbox 360. All players, regardless of ego or clan, are encouraged to join in!
First of all, this is a free event and has no restrictions on equipment, ego, or current clan status. We invite all to join in on the event for the potential to win legendary weapons. Here is how it works:
1. Opt in to the contest by simply posting your in game name and gamertag into this forum thread. You will be added onto the official "opt in" list and will be eligible for prizes during the event.
2. On Saturday at 6:00 PM Central, come to either "Shwartz" or "Whatasmartdude" (instructions on how to get to us are below) at the Muir Processing Plant.
3. Simply wait in the designated area until a major arkfall spawns and we announce that it is time to start.
Rules:
1. You must use a quad (four wheeler) to get to the arkfall. The purpose is to ensure that we do not make the servers any more unstable than necessary so nobody gets lagged out of the game.
2. You cannot fast travel to the arkfall or a friend to get a lead over everyone else. Doing so will disqualify you.
3. You cannot harass other players for any reason. We all love some smack talking, but directly insulting other players, accusing them of cheating, etc. will result in disqualification.
4. Make sure you have something that will allow you to hear other players talking so you can know when it is time to leave for the arkfall.
5. Make sure to HAVE FUN! The purpose of this event is to promote the MMO aspects of the game and get everyone involved. Pick up some new friends or just chat with fellow Ark Hunters.
6. In the event that more than 40 players opt in to the contest, we will break up the contest into two phases to ensure that nobody gets lagged out of the game.
Disclaimer:
1. We cannot control the status of the servers or your connectivity. If you lag out during the arkfall, you can still attempt to win, but we cannot make any special exceptions if this occurs (such as giving more points or redoing the arkfall).
2. We have the right to disqualify any player that is doing something to either hinder the event or insult/harass other players.
3. Starting at 6:00 PM Central time we will go to the first major arkfall that isn't in San Francisco. If you are not at the processing plant at that time, we may not be there when you show up if an arkfall spawns. You can attempt to go to the arkfall, but we cannot make any special exceptions if you do not show up. Make sure you are there on time if you want to win.
4. Only Freemason members AND players who opt in to this forum thread will be eligible for prizes.
5. In the event that more than 40 players opt in to the contest, we will break up the contest into two phases to ensure that nobody gets lagged out of the game.
How to get to us:
1. Press right on the d-pad and choose the "Find Player" option.
2. Manually search for "Shwartz" OR "Whatasmartguy". We should come up.
3. Select the option to "View Gamertag/Profile" and choose "Join Session in Progress". This will put you in our phase. Sometimes the option does not always come up to "Join Session in Progress"; if this happens, simply press B to back out of our gamertag, then view it again. You may need to do it a couple times for this option to show up if it doesn't the first time.
4. Sometimes a bug will occur where the "You are now in the same world as your friend" message will get stuck on your screen when you do step 3. If this occurs, simply press right on the d-pad, go to nearby/friends, then press right on the d-pad again to "Inspect" (you won't see the Inspect option because it will be covered with the message stuck on the screen so just keep pressing right on the d-pad). When this screen comes up to inspect, your screen will do something a little odd and you should now be able to press "Start" to bring up your inventory screen (you may need to press start a few times). Press start again to close out the inventory screen. Alternatively, you can view a vendor and that will remove it as well.
5. Fast travel to the Muir Processing Plant and look for other contestants. You should be able to find "Shwartz" or "Whatasmartguy" in the nearby, but you should also see a lot of Freemasons. Jump into area chat and feel free to talk to other players, but please keep the channel clear when we need to answer questions or explain the rules.
Prizes:
For this event, the first 10 players will win legendary equipment. The first 3 highest placed players will receive a legendary weapon/grenade/shield, excluding rocket launchers. All other players (4th-10th) will receive a legendary rocket launcher.

To close, I would like to say that we will be hosting many community events in the future, such as community data recorder run throughs, co op map pursuit help, and much more! Make sure to tell your friends and look out for any future Freemason events via the Defiance forums. We hope to see many people sign up; see all of you in game!
