Are you sure you linked it in the first place? As far as I know its not implemented because beta is not linked with the website's API.

i linked it about 2 hours ago on the website it said successfully linked to console it was only about an hour ago i read a thred with sledge saying don't link account

What I think sledge meant to say is don't bother trying to link the account, since the beta key given won't work.
You can verify if the account is linked simply by going to " www.defiance.com/linked "
If there is no gamertag under the "enter 15 key phrase" than you are fine.
Because it might say its was successful, but the gamertag will just say "undefined", meaning it didn't link the account.

I just checked it dident have my gt anywere on the page also im sure I saw something saying undefined in the menues

Yeah it was the same for me I linked my account a few days back well I thought I had and taking the advice posted earlier my gamertag isnt there under the code bar which is empty and my gamertag is no where to be seen which is good as im unistalling the beta today.
